Stored XSS via unescaped pledge comments

Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026

Stored XSS in ChurchCRM before 7.2.0 allows remote authenticated users with Finance access to execute scripts in other users' browsers. PledgeEditor.php loads plg_comment from pledge_plg and inserts it unescaped into an HTML input value attribute, so attribute-breaking text becomes an event handler. Finance access is required to store the payload, and another user must open the affected pledge for editing before the script runs in that user's browser.
