Authenticated configuration takeover via unenforced permission
Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026
Missing authorization in wger before 2.5 allows remote authenticated users to modify installation-wide gym configuration. GymConfigUpdateView inherits WgerFormMixin rather than WgerPermissionMixin, so its declared change_gymconfig permission is never checked for the ownerless singleton. Any authenticated account can change the default gym and trigger save operations that reassign user profiles across the installation.
