CVE-2026-40454Network attack vector

Client crash via malformed TsBlock deserialization

Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026

Out-of-bounds reads in Apache IoTDB C++ client 1.3.5 through 1.3.7 and 2.0.5 through 2.0.9 allow remote attackers to crash clients. The TsBlock deserializer reads beyond a valid buffer boundary when it processes malformed data returned by an IoTDB server. Exposure requires an affected application to process a malformed TsBlock response from a server; the documented consequence is termination of that client process.
