Local pointer manipulation via forged serialized pointer
Published Apr 13, 2026 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Type confusion in Escargot revision 97e8115ab1110bc502b4b5e4a0c689a71520d335 allows local users to manipulate pointers via serialized input. SerializedSharedArrayBufferObjectValue::deserializeFrom treats an attacker-supplied integer as a SharedDataBlockInfo pointer and dereferences it without validation. Reachability requires a local caller or embedding application to pass crafted data to the public Serializer API; observed outcomes include an invalid write and process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
