CVE-2026-4040

Local file-presence disclosure via safeBins oracle

Published Mar 12, 2026 · Updated Mar 12, 2026

Information disclosure in OpenClaw through 2026.2.17 allows local users to infer whether selected host files exist through safeBins. The tools.exec.safeBins validator consults host file existence while evaluating file-oriented arguments, producing different allow or deny outcomes for existing and absent paths. Reachability requires access to the execution surface and an affected safeBins configuration; disclosure is limited to file presence.
