CVE-2026-40320

Arbitrary code execution via unsandboxed rule rendering

Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026

Template injection in Giskard Open Source before 1.0.2b1 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted check definition. ConformityCheck passes its rule string to Jinja2's default Template() constructor and renders it without sandboxing, causing embedded expressions to execute at runtime. Exploitation requires write access to a check definition and a developer or test process to run the affected suite.
