Unauthenticated database export via ignored authorization result
Published May 14, 2026 · Updated May 14, 2026
Missing authorization in Database Backup for WordPress 2.5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to export database tables. When a backup parameter is present, the constructor calls can_user_backup() but registers the init handler without enforcing its false return, allowing delivery of an SQL export. Exploitation requires WordPress Multisite with the deprecated is_site_admin() function present and exposes selected database contents without authentication.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
