Code execution or crash via malformed trace log

Improper input validation in BlackBerry QNX Software Development Platform 7.0 through 8.0 allows attackers to execute code or crash processes. The decode() function fails to validate a specified quantity read from a corrupted kernel trace event log; BlackBerry has not disclosed the quantity or resulting memory operation. Local users must cause a process using libtraceparser to open the crafted .kev file, after which code executes in that process or the process terminates.
