Path traversal in Gramps Web API 1.6.0 through 3.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary server-local files. MediaImporter._check_disk_space_and_extract() passes attacker-controlled archive members to zipfile.extractall() without rejecting ../ path components. Owner-level access is required; persistent impact ranges from cross-tree database or media corruption to configuration overwrite, while hardened Postgres/S3 deployments expose only ephemeral container files.
