Authenticated arbitrary file write via unsanitized rename target
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
Path traversal in goshs 1.0.7 through 2.0.0-beta.3 allows remote authenticated users to write outside the SFTP root via rename. The cmdFile Rename branch sanitizes r.Filepath but passes the untrusted r.Target directly to os.Rename as the destination path. Valid SFTP credentials and write access are required; a crafted absolute target can overwrite configuration or authorization files outside the served tree.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
