CVE-2026-40184Network attack vector

Uploaded-photo disclosure via unauthenticated static route

Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026

Missing authentication in TREK before 2.7.2 allows remote attackers to read uploaded photos through direct HTTP requests. The Express /uploads/photos/:filename handler used res.sendFile after path validation without checking a JWT or share token. Exploitation requires a valid uploaded-photo filename and exposes only the requested photo; covers and avatars are intentionally public.
