Local memory disclosure via trailing escape sequence
Published Mar 12, 2026 · Updated Mar 12, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in rxi fe allows local users to read adjacent process data through a source file ending with a backslash. In read_ in src/fe.c, an EOF after a backslash makes strchr match the NUL terminator and the subsequent [1] access read one byte beyond the escape-map literal. Local access and control of an interpreted source file are required; the demonstrated result is a one-byte invalid read, with no integrity or availability impact reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
