Unauthenticated filesystem disclosure via unchecked model path
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
Path traversal in the Daniel Gatis rembg HTTP server before 2.0.75 allows remote attackers to probe arbitrary server files through a model path. The /api/remove handler parses extras JSON without validation, passes model_path into a custom session, and ONNX Runtime opens the resolved path as a model. The server must run in HTTP mode and be network-reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and errors disclose file existence, permissions, or contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
