Authenticated command execution via unescaped graph text
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Command injection in Cacti 1.2.30 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through crafted graph templates. In lib/rrd.php, escape_command() returns its command unchanged, so __rrd_execute() sends graph-template text_format values and host substitutions to shell_exec() without adequate escaping. High-privileged Cacti access and graph-rendering reachability are required; successful exploitation runs commands with the Cacti process's operating-system privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
