Authenticated process crash via invalid IMAP commands
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in imap-hibernate in OX Dovecot CE and Pro allows remote authenticated users to crash the process with invalid commands. The service intermittently reads beyond a buffer while handling invalid commands across many simultaneous authenticated connections. IMAP hibernation must be enabled; a crash interrupts the hibernated IMAP sessions assigned to that process and degrades IMAP service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
