SQL injection via unquoted PostgreSQL schema names
Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026
SQL injection in OpenBao before 2.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL as the PostgreSQL management user during role revocation. The PostgreSQL database secrets engine interpolates schema names returned by PostgreSQL into REVOKE statements without identifier quoting. Exploitation requires permission to create schemas and grant privileges on them, and successful injection can expose data accessible to the management user.
