Stored XSS via decoded unescaped list items
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Stored XSS in Wikimedia Foundation MediaWiki Cargo before 3.8.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in viewers' browsers. CargoQueryDisplayer decodes an escaped combined list value to split it, then formats each item without re-escaping it in page-values and Special:CargoTables output. Low-privileged content insertion and a later page view are required; the script runs in the viewer's web context and can alter displayed content or access available data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
