Unauthenticated service interruption via file descriptor exhaustion
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Resource exhaustion in the F5 BIG-IP Configuration utility allows remote attackers to interrupt service via undisclosed traffic. The httpd process fails to release file descriptors after handling that traffic, eventually exhausting its available descriptor pool; F5 has not disclosed the request pattern. Reachability requires LDAP authentication to be configured for the utility, and exploitation affects availability without reported data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
