CVE-2026-39414Network attack vector

Authenticated server crash via unbounded CSV line read

Published Apr 8, 2026 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

DoS in MinIO S3 Select before RELEASE.2025-12-20T04-58-37Z allows remote authenticated users to crash the server with a crafted CSV. The CSV reader's nextSplit() function passes newline-free input to bufio.Reader.ReadBytes('\n') without a size limit, buffering the entire object in one allocation. Exploitation requires s3:PutObject and s3:GetObject permissions; a compressed or sufficiently large uncompressed CSV can exhaust process memory and terminate MinIO.
