Arbitrary blob overwrite via URI fragment truncation
Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026
Improper input validation in NuGet Gallery allows attackers to overwrite arbitrary blobs through crafted package metadata. The catalog backend trusts a package identifier from .nuspec metadata when resolving a storage URI, and an injected fragment truncates the blob path. The attacker must be able to submit a package; cross-package metadata injection can tamper with existing container content and lead to code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
