Authenticated code execution via traversed template include
Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026
Local file inclusion in BoidCMS before 2.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through a crafted tpl value. Page creation and update logic stores the tpl parameter without path validation, then passes it to require_once(), allowing traversal out of the theme directory into media/. Administrator access and an uploaded PHP-bearing file are required to execute code with the web server's privileges.
