Unauthorized document disclosure via unchecked link expansion
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Missing authorization in Frappe Framework before 15.104.0 and from 16.0.0-beta.1 before 16.14.0 allows remote attackers to read linked documents. The v1 REST API's expand_links path calls frappe.get_doc without check_permission, and BaseDocument.json serializes the full linked record without field filtering. Exploitation requires access to a readable document whose Link or Dynamic Link field references a restricted document, exposing that linked record's data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
