Unauthenticated note writes via disabled Clipper middleware
Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026
Authentication bypass in the Clipper API in Trilium Notes 0.102.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to write notes over the network. In apps/server/src/routes/routes.ts, Electron mode assigns the Clipper routes an empty middleware list instead of the ETAPI token check. Network access to an Electron desktop instance is required; exploitation permits unauthorized note injection and limited data disclosure.
