Arbitrary file write via unchecked tar extraction
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Path traversal in PraisonAI before 4.5.113 allows remote authenticated users to write outside a pull destination via a crafted recipe. LocalRegistry.pull and HttpRegistry.pull pass unvalidated archive members to tar.extractall, allowing parent-directory entries to escape the recipe directory. Exploitation requires a user or automated job to pull the recipe; checksum validation does not block traversal embedded in the signed bundle.
