Arbitrary file write via unchecked target path
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Path traversal in PraisonAI before 4.5.113 allows local users or compromised agents to write arbitrary host files through Action Orchestrator. The _apply_step method joins workspace to the untrusted step.target value without resolving the result or enforcing workspace containment. Exploitation requires an approved FILE_CREATE or FILE_EDIT action and can overwrite sensitive files or place executable payloads.
