UI spoofing via RTL-reordered PiP origin
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
UI spoofing in Picture-in-Picture in Google Chrome before 146.0.7680.71 allows remote attackers to misrepresent a page's origin. The PiP title label renders attacker-controlled domain text using bidirectional rules, so RTL override characters can reorder it into a trusted-looking domain. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted HTML page and enter Picture-in-Picture; the false origin can support phishing, without reported data access or code execution.
