Repository data disclosure via unverified SSH host keys
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Improper SSH host-key validation in Dulwich 1.1.0 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to impersonate Git servers. The Paramiko SSH vendor in contrib/paramiko_vendor.py accepts an unknown server key because it neither loads known-host entries nor rejects unknown keys. Exploitation requires control of the network path to a Dulwich SSH connection and exposes repository data handled during the impersonated session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
