Stored XSS via unencoded RSS feed titles
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Stored XSS in Netgate pfSense Plus 26.03 and earlier and pfSense CE 2.8.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. The rss.widget.php dashboard widget renders each RSS post title without validation or output encoding, permitting feed-supplied markup to enter the page. Exploitation requires an active RSS widget configured with an untrusted feed and a dashboard visit, exposing the authenticated browser session to attacker-controlled script.
