Stored script execution via crafted blog content
Published May 4, 2026 · Updated May 4, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in wCMS 1.4 allows remote attackers to execute script in another user's browser through a crafted new blog. The blog-creation workflow accepts an HTML image tag with an onerror handler and later renders it without neutralizing the event attribute. No authentication is required, but another user must open the created site; the demonstrated consequence is attacker-supplied JavaScript in that user's browser.
