CVE-2026-3845Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser crash via truncated AV1 buffer allocation

Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in Firefox for Android before 148.0.2 allows remote attackers to crash the browser through crafted AV1 media. BufferRecycleBin::GetBuffer narrows a size_t allocation length to uint32_t, allocates the truncated size, and then receives a full-size libyuv write. Triggering the affected path requires the non-default media.prefer-non-ffvpx preference and an oversized 10-bit I444 frame on some Android GPUs.
