Local file access via unsanitized version strings
Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026
Path traversal in Kedro 1.2.0 allows local users to read or overwrite files outside a versioned dataset directory. The _get_versioned_path() method in kedro/io/core.py inserts an unvalidated version string into a filesystem path, while _split_load_versions() accepts the same input from --load-versions. Reachability requires local control of the version value; successful traversal exposes or poisons files accessible to the Kedro process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
