Unauthenticated code execution via path-traversal file write
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Path traversal in fohrloop dash-uploader 0.1.0 through 0.7.0a2 allows remote attackers to write files outside the upload directory. The HTTP handler passes upload_id, resumableFilename, and resumableIdentifier directly from form data into os.path.join and os.makedirs without validation. A single unauthenticated POST can place content anywhere writable by the WSGI process, and code execution follows when a startup-loaded Python file is overwritten.
