Denial of service via chroma-width division by zero
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Division by zero in FFmpeg N-122528-gdd2976b9e1 allows attackers to interrupt media processing through crafted input. When yuv411p scaling targets width 8 with SWS_FAST_BILINEAR enabled, ff_sws_init_single_context derives chrDstW as 2 and divides by zero while calculating chrXInc. The crafted input must reach that format, width, and scaling-mode combination; the reported consequence is denial of service, with no published confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
