Authenticated service crash via unrestricted ZIP expansion
Published Mar 9, 2026 · Updated Mar 9, 2026
Denial of service in OWASP DefectDojo 2.55.0 through 2.55.4 allows remote authenticated users to crash the service with a ZIP bomb. SonarQube and Microsoft Defender scan importers read every archive member fully into memory without checking uncompressed size or compression ratio. Import Scan permission is required; an archive expanding beyond available memory terminates the application process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
