Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked sub-TLV length
Published Jun 3, 2026 · Updated Jun 3, 2026
Improper input validation in FRRouting (FRR) 10.0 through 10.6 allows remote attackers to interrupt bgpd via a crafted BGP UPDATE. In rfapiRibBi2Ri() in bgpd/rfapi/rfapi_rib.c, an RFPOPTION sub-TLV is processed without rejecting a length below three or a zero option length, and its unchecked length minus two is passed to allocation. Access to a BGP session is sufficient; the published impact is limited to a service interruption, with no reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
