Authenticated code execution via unchecked PPPOEPassword length
Published Mar 8, 2026 · Updated Mar 8, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda F453 1.0.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted QuickIndex request. The formQuickIndex handler passes an attacker-controlled PPPOEPassword to sub_3C6C0 without checking its length when mit_linktype equals 2, overflowing stack buffer s. Access to the router's web interface and a low-privilege authenticated session are required; exploitation can crash httpd or execute code on the device.
