Resource exhaustion via incomplete xApp cleanup
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in EURECOM FlexRIC 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to exhaust iApp resources via repeated E42 setup requests. The iApp setup handler assigns multiple xapp_ids to one SCTP association, while disconnect handling finds and removes only one mapping and leaves the remaining subscriptions stale. Unauthenticated network access to SCTP port 36422 permits repeated accumulation that depletes resources or corrupts iApp state.
