Authenticated code execution via incompletely filtered Twig overrides
Published Mar 8, 2026 · Updated Mar 8, 2026
Server-side template injection in OpenCart 4.0.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the administrative Theme Editor. The Save function in admin/controller/design/template.php incompletely filters Twig special elements before storing an enabled override that the storefront later renders. Administrative Theme Editor access is required; successful payloads run in the server-side template context and can read or alter application data or interrupt the storefront.
