Disputed unauthenticated account creation via enabled self-registration
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Account registration in DokuWiki 2025-05-14b allows remote attackers to create default-group accounts through the register action. The register action accepts a registration form and assigns the new user to the configured default group; the supplier states that this is the intended self-registration workflow, not code execution. The action is disabled by default, and reachability requires an administrator to enable registration; the supplier reports no privilege escalation or account takeover.
