Unauthenticated super-administrator takeover via traversed include path
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Local file inclusion in Veno File Manager 4.4.9 allows remote attackers to obtain super-administrator access without authentication. The admin-head-updates.php handler uses the unsanitized lang parameter to build an include path, letting a traversal request corrupt the configuration. A follow-up request to setup.php regenerates that configuration and resets the super-administrator password to its default, enabling full administrative access without user interaction.
