User enumeration via unauthenticated username checks
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
User enumeration in Veno File Manager 4.4.9 allows remote attackers to identify valid application users via unauthenticated POST requests. The /vfm-admin/ajax/usr-check.php endpoint tests a chosen user_name value and returns an observable response that reveals whether the account exists. Any network-reachable deployment exposing this endpoint can disclose valid usernames for follow-on password attacks, but no password or account access is disclosed.
