Authenticated service interruption via unchecked GroupName copy
Published Mar 8, 2026 · Updated Mar 8, 2026
Buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 810G 1.7.7-171114 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via a crafted DNS-filter request. The formConfigDnsFilterGlobal handler copies the attacker-controlled GroupName value into a fixed destination with strcpy without checking its length. Administrative HTTP authentication reaches the demonstrated path, and an oversized value corrupts memory and interrupts the gateway service.
