Unauthenticated file disclosure via H-VUE path traversal
Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026
Path traversal in Gigamon GVOS 5.16.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the H-VUE service. The DownloadDbFile handler passes an unfiltered URI path to download_file, which concatenates it with DBFILE_DIR before opening the resulting path. Network access to the unauthenticated persistd service on port 8089 is required, and the published CVSS assessment limits impact to file confidentiality.
