Device crash via unvalidated macAddr copy
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W20E 15.11.0.6 allows remote attackers to crash the device via a crafted HTTP request. The formDelStaState handler passes the unvalidated macAddr value to init_wl_policy_list, where memcpy copies a token into a stack buffer without checking its length against the destination. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the HTTP management interface must be network-reachable; the reported consequence is a process crash or device instability.
