Unauthenticated denial of service via hostname overflow
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Buffer overflow in Tenda W15E 15.11.0.10 allows remote attackers to crash the router through a crafted HTTP hostname parameter. The formSetNetCheckTools handler reads hostName with websGetVar, measures its untrusted length, and passes that length to strncpy into a fixed hostname buffer. The endpoint is network-reachable without authentication; oversized input can crash the process or destabilize the device, interrupting routing service.
