Unauthenticated device crash via unbounded image name formatting
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W15E 15.11.0.10 allows remote attackers to crash or destabilize the device via a crafted HTTP request. The formCropAndSetWewifiPic handler reads picCropName with websGetVar and formats it into picName using an unbounded sprintf call. No authentication is required; an overlong value sent to the CGI endpoint can interrupt router service, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
