Service interruption via unescaped traceroute command input
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda O3 Wireless Router 1.0.0.5(4180) allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted HTTP request. The fromNetToolGet CGI handler reads the domain parameter with websGetVar and passes it unescaped into a traceroute command through doSystemCmd. No authentication or user interaction is required; the published impact is a process crash or device instability, although the technical reference also demonstrates command injection.
