Authenticated command execution via WLAN configuration input
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Command injection in EDIMAX BR-6428nS V3 firmware 1.15 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary system commands. The web management interface processes WLAN configuration parameters containing shell metacharacters without sufficient input validation. Network access and an authenticated management session are required; commands run with the web service's privileges and can alter configuration or interrupt routing.
