Subscriber-level file deletion via post-body path traversal
Published Apr 4, 2026 · Updated Apr 4, 2026
Path traversal in gVectors Team wpForo Forum 2.4.16 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete server files via crafted forum posts. The Posts.php deletion flow parses attachment paths embedded in post-body content and passes them to the WordPress file-deletion API without rejecting traversal sequences. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and deletion is limited to server files writable by PHP, including files whose loss can interrupt the site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
