CVE-2026-36616

Credential disclosure via production driver defaults

Published Jun 3, 2026 · Updated Jun 3, 2026

Hard-coded credentials in Mercusys AC12G (EU) V1 firmware AC12G(EU)_V1_200909 allow attackers to recover WiFi secrets via extraction. The MediaTek/Ralink WiFi driver configuration template retains a RADIUS shared secret, WPS test key, default PSK, and factory AP password in the production binary. Activation requires a configuration failure or a relevant wireless mode without explicit keys, enabling RADIUS or access-point impersonation and exposing WiFi credentials through debug or serial logging.
